STEELEVILLE – Pamela S. "Pam" Massey, passed away peacefully in her home in Steeleville, IL, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the age of 82.
Pam was born in Bakersfield, CA, to Henry C. and Opal M. (nee Bridges) Redman on April 22, 1943. Pam married Roy Massey on October 3, 1959. The two later divorced but remained close throughout her life.
Pam retired from Sparta Walmart after 28 years. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching the games while talking with her sons who shared her enthusiasm for the team. Pam was a beloved mother and grandmother who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends.
Pam is survived by her 2 sons, Ricky (Crystal) Massey of Parma, MO, and Timothy K. Massey of Steeleville, IL, and 3 daughters, Misty (Mike) Smith of Steeleville, IL, Madina (Randy) Vogel of Steeleville, IL, and Samantha (Jimmie) Simmons of Chester, IL, and daughter-in-law, Lynn Massey (Heath) of Harrah, OK; 22 Grandchildren, LaDawn Massey of Malden, MO, Lauren Massey of Claremore, OK, Meagan Massey of Claremore, OK, Zackary Meador of Tallapoosa, MO, Wyatt McCulloch of Portageville, MO, Emma Grace Patterson of Spartanburg, SC, Michael Massey of Owasso, OK, Toni (Drew) French of Hayworth, WI, Morgan Cusack of Moore, OK, Cori Shown of Tulsa, OK, Sarah (Benjamin) Wilbourn of Lindsay, OK, Timothy L. Massey (Lindsey) of Jacksonville, NC, Michaela Smith of Steeleville, IL, Makenzie (Dylan) McCoy of O'Fallon, IL, Brandan (Shelby) Renner of Sparta, IL, Kendra Vogel of Wichita, KS, Allanah (Seth) Troue of Steeleville, IL, Sean (Britt) Renner of Sparta, IL, Faith Renner of Brooksville, FL, Chase (Ashlee) Rednour of Murphysboro, IL, Logan (Dylan) Johnson of Murphysboro, IL, Addison Ragland of Chester, IL; 28 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, her ex-husband Roy (Patty) Massey of Checotah, OK, sister, Barbara Pratt of Kissee Mills, MO, Brothers-in-law, Joseph Ustasiewski of Phoenix, AZ, Richard Massey of Poplar Bluff, MO, sister-in-law, Priscilla Redman of Houston, TX, and a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dog Tiny and cat Snoopy.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, son Tony Massey, 2 brothers, Paul Redman, Lee Redman, sister, Peggy Ustasiewski, brothers and sisters-in-law, Joyce Ray and Jimmie Nell Massey, Wayne Massey, Betty Pruitt, Donna Pruitt, and Linda Massey.
It was Pam's wish to be cremated. A private Celebration of Life is being planned to be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
