Obituary

WALSH – Pamela Kay (Weiser) Kessel, 56, of Walsh, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

Pamela was born September 9, 1964, daughter of Donald Lawrence and Donna Mae (Rickenberg) Weiser.

Pamela graduated from the Steeleville High School in 1982; where she was active in many clubs including the Debate, and the History club, where she received state awards for her works in Model UN, under the guidance of Margret Pierce. Pamela attended McKendree College in Lebanon, IL, then turned her interests to law.  She then graduated from Vanderbilt University, St. Louis, MO, and worked at the Law Firm of Bryan Cave, St. Louis, MO, as a legal secretary.  Pamela then worked for the Department of Children and Family Services, Regional Office in East St. Louis, IL.  Pamela was baptized and confirmed to the Lutheran faith, as member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Walsh, IL.  She was also secretary of the St. John's Lutheran School PTL in Red Bud, IL, during her daughter's tenor.  Pamela enjoyed being a mother to her daughter, Emma, the most.  Taking Emma to piano recitals, swimming lessons, karate, school activities, and dotting on Emma's every achievement, great and small.  Emma was the joy of her life.  Pamela had a great sense of humor, and a bubbly, joyous personality, who would light up a room and put a smile on your face.  She was a loving mother, wonderful daughter, and a good sister.

Pamela was blessed with the gift of a daughter, Emma Renee Kessel (Derrick Manche, Fiancé) of Perryville, MO, who survives.

Pamela is also survived by her mother, Donna Mae Weiser of Walsh; two sisters, Sandra Dee (Greg) Haertling of Perryville, MO, and Tamara Weiser of Walsh, one brother, Donald Douglas (Angie) Weiser of Walsh.  Special nephews and nieces, Michael and Katherine Birchler of Regensburg, Brian and Lindsey Bircher of Perryville, MO, Jessica, and Adam Naeger of Ste. Genevieve, MO, Donald Derek Weiser of Red Bud, IL, other nieces, and nephews, and one great niece, Ellie Birchler, and two great nephews, Bear Birchler and Lane Naeger, as well as aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Donald Lawrence Weiser, maternal grandparents, Everett, and Frieda Rickenberg; paternal grandparents, Dorothy Louise (Moore) and Elmer Joseph Weiser, along with many aunts and uncles.

Due to the pandemic, private graveside services and internment will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL, with Minister Debra Rathert    officiating.  Please sign the online guestbook ( www.wilsonsfuneralhome.net ) to share your cherished memories of Pamela. Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, are assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be given to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Shop with a Cop Program and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.  Due to executive order, face masks must be worn, and social guidelines must be followed.
