Obituary

WILLISVILLE – Norman D. "Wayne" Beisner, Jr., 74, of Willisville passed away at 4:37 PM, Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at the Sparta Community Hospital.

Norman was born on August 12, 1944, in Sparta, the son of Norman D. and Helen A. (Jones) Beisner. He married Diana M. Pruneau, on May 8, 1965, in Crystal City, Missouri, and they shared 53 years of marriage. Wayne retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections in 2001 after 31 years of service.  He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Willisville, Chester Eagles, Knights of Columbus, and the Chester County Club. Prior to his stroke in 2010 Wayne enjoyed golfing, vacationing, and was a season ticket holder for the St. Louis Blues. He loved a good Blues vs. Blackhawk's game with his beloved Chase. His grandchildren were his life. He enjoyed visiting with them and watching them compete on their competitions. Anyone who knew Wayne appreciated his sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh, and loved a good prank. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Wayne is survived by his wife; Diana M. Beisner, of Willisville, 2 daughters; Michelle (Eric) Carruthers, of Campbell Hill and Lisa (Andy) Govreau, of Festus, Missouri grandchildren; Chase and Ethan Carruthers, Spencer and Tatum Govreau. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Beisner was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father – in – law; Christine and Tony Pruneau, brother and sister – in – law; Larry and June Pruneau, and 1 nephew; Brian Pruneau.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, April 8, 2019, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Willisville, with Father Larry Lemay, and Father Leo Hayes officiating, and burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, and then on Monday from 7:30 until 10 AM. Memorials may be made to Sandra's Comfort.
