VERGENNES - Norman R. Walker, 73, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Vergennes, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Desert Blossom Rehab in Mesa, Arizona. Norman was born in Old DuQuoin, Illinois on August 17, 1941, the son of Earl and Ruth Wisely Walker. He was a retired Telephone Technician. Norman was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Vergennes; the Elks Lodge in DuQuoin; and the DuQuoin Jaycees. Norman is survived by his son, Kevin (Kaye) Walker of Simpson, IL; grandchildren, Rebecca and Patrick Walker; brother, Rodney Walker of Elkville, IL; and nieces and nephews, Connie Hout, Colleen Rush, Angela Rogers, Brian Walker and Nicolus Walker. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Leon Walker; and one nephew, Jimmy Walker. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Parrish Cemetery in Vergrennes with Rev. Stephanie Voss officiating. Burial will follow. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery. Memorials may be given to DuQuoin Jaycees.
