PERCY – Nancy J. Dierks, 77, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at her home in Percy, Illinois.
Nancy was born on October 9, 1946, in Bethalto, IL, the daughter of Chesteen and Josephine (Vickers) Andrews. She married Roy Dierks on February 18, 1977, at Immanuel Lutheran Church – West Point, Campbell Hill, IL. Nancy was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church – West Point, The Ladies Aid, and the Chester VFW Auxiliary, where she always looked forward to spending her Friday nights there at the round table with her friends.
Nancy lived a full and beautiful life. She enjoyed making fresh flower arrangements from her garden and wildflowers. Nancy enjoyed sharing her fresh produce from her garden, especially her hot pickles everyone enjoyed. She enjoyed weaving beautiful rugs of color and was well known at the many craft fairs she attended. Nancy was also known for all her hats, she loved hats like just her mother. One of her favorite things to do was to spend time with her family and playing pinochle.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Roy, and daughter, Carrie Jo Dierks, as well as her beloved dog, Joshua Wayne. Also surviving is one sister, Cynthia (Andrews) and Walter Dierks of Broomfield, CO; a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Andrews of Ebenezer; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Beulah Dierks of Ava; sister-in-law, Carolyn Fritsche of Steeleville; sister-in-law, Florine Liefer of Plano, TX, brother-in-law, Lester Dierks of Ava; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Nancy Dierks of O'Fallon; sister-in-law, Denise (Dierks) and Delbert Ernsting of Percy; and many treasured nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Chesteen and Josephine (Bobbie) Andrews, brother, Joseph Andrews, sister, Sally Polosky, mother and father-in-law, Albert and Emma Dierks, brother-in-law, Melvin Fritsche, sister-in-law, Alma Dierks, and two nephews, David Dierks and Matthew Polosky.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 3:00 pm, at Immanuel Lutheran Church-West Point, Campbell Hill, IL, with Rev. Mark Sedwick officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Ebenezer Cemetery, Rockwood, IL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, where friends may call from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Memorials may be given to Ebenezer Cemetery, Rockwood, IL, or Infusion Friends & Family Fund c/o Memorial Hospital Chester and can mailed in c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
