MURPHYSBORO - Myrna H. Miesner, 91, of Murphysboro, formerly of Jacob and Campbell Hill, passed away at 9:04 pm, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro. Myrna was born in Centralia, Illinois on September 12, 1922, the daughter of John and Myrtle McGown Siefman. She married George H. Miesner on October 23, 1954 in Jacob, IL. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2007. Myrna was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill. She was a retired operator for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Myrna is survived by one daughter-in-law, Brenda Miesner of Steeleville; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Myrna was also preceded in death by her Parents; one son, James Miesner; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Grover Franklin and Janet and Jerry Luna; three sisters; and two brothers. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill with Rev. Alan Kornacki officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill on Saturday from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
