PERCY – With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Waymon Wilford "Moe" Johnson, 82, of Percy, IL.  He passed away on August 19, 2021, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.

Moe was born on March 17, 1939, in Portageville, MO, to David E. and LaVerne M. Johnson.  He was a member of the Real Church, Murphysboro, IL and was a devoted member of the Steeleville Lions Club, where he served as Governor and President during his terms.  Moe was a retired truck driver.

Moe is survived by his wife Barb Johnson of Percy, IL, his children; Cindy Hibler of San Saba, TX, Darlene Johnson of Percy, IL, Waymon G. Johnson of Caraway, AR, Charissa (Josh) McDonald of Percy, IL, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Moe is preceded in death by his parents and sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Pastor Noah Fritsche officiating.  Burial to follow at Steeleville City Cemetery, Steeleville.  Friends may call 6–8 pm, Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with a Lion's Club Rose Ceremony at 7 pm.  Memorials may be given to Steeleville Lion's Club and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
