BELLEVILLE – Minnie Rees, 96, of Belleville, formerly of Percy, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Bradford Place, Swansea, Illinois.

Minnie was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on October 5, 1926, the daughter of Sidney and Millie (Hawkins) Bailey. She married Howard Rees on June 15, 1957, in Chester, IL. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2005. Minnie was a homemaker and a member of United Community Church, Campbell Hill, IL. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Minnie is survived by her children: Roger (Cindy) Rees of Chester, IL, Lloyd Hyde of Percy, IL, Leon Hyde of Willisville, IL, Brenda Rees of Belleville, IL, Lou Gene Hunt of Coulterville, IL; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Minnie is also preceded in death by her Parents, two daughters, and twelve brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 11:30 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Rev. Stephen Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Family and friends may call 9:30 to 11:30 am. Memorials may be given to United Community Church, Campbell Hill.
