SPARTA, Mildred C. "Milly" Welshans, 93, of Sparta, IL, born February 11, 1922, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Illinois. Milly had a business, "The Gingham Shop". She loved gardening, and the special times she shared with her family. She was also a member of the Sparta Garden Club and St. John's Lutheran Church of Sparta, IL. She married Marshall A. Welshans on September 2, 1939. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1990. Also a Great Granddaughter, Sarah Hartmann, preceded her in death on December 16, 2001. Surviving are four daughters: Judy (Donald) Owens of Franklin, KY, Sue (Henry) Hartmann of Sparta, IL, Linda (Wayne) Buls of San Antonio, TX and Maryann (Gary) Johnson of Edwardsville, IL. She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren and six Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sparta, IL with. Rev. Bruce Cameron officiating. Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL. Visitation will be at St. John's Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or the Randolph County Humane Society.
