Obituary

STEELEVILLE – Mildred L. Eggemeyer, 90, of Steeleville, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Cedarhurst Assisted Living in Collinsville, Illinois.

Mildred was born in Cutler, Illinois, on February 27, 1930, the daughter of Charles and Lena Gerberding Schlimme.  She married Vernon L. Eggemeyer on November 27, 1954 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, Illinois, he preceded her in death on February 12, 2007.  Mildred was Confirmed on April 2, 1944 and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Steeleville, IL.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #480 of Steeleville, IL.  Mildred was a Homemaker.

Mildred is survived by her children; Holly (Tom) Rick of Carterville, IL, and Verlynn (Dan) Slusher of Maryville, IL.  Grandchildren; Daniel (Sonja) Jaimet of Carterville, IL, Jason (Christy) Jaimet of Carterville, IL, Nathan (Jillian) Jaimet of Paducah, KY, Danielle Slusher of St. Louis, MO and Jensen Slusher of Maryville, IL.  Great Grandchildren; Leina Jaimet, Lillian, Jaimet, Jayci Jaimet, Miley Jaimet of Carterville, IL and Marley Jaimet of Paducah, KY.  Sister, Eileen Taylor Clements of Steeleville, IL.  Sister in Laws; Ardell Kloth of Steeleville, IL, and Alberta Sternberg of Chester, IL.  Brother in Law, Gene Diskey of Schuline, IL.

Mildred was also preceded in death by her Parents and one sister, Dorothy Bruns Allen.

A Private Family service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, with Reverend Mark Harriss, Pastor Robert Gray and Reverend Jason Holden officiating.  Burial will follow. The preferred form of remembrance are memorials to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or School and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.  To sign the guestbook visit www.wilsonsfuneralhome.net .  By executive order, face masks are required, and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
