AVA – Michael Roy Throop, 33, of Ava, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, in Willisville, IL.
Roy was born October 23, 1987, in Scottsdale, AZ, to Thomas and Cookie Mottl Throop. He married Jody Glover on August 21, 2020, in Murphysboro, IL. Roy worked with K.B. Logging in Ava, Illinois, as a tree cutter, and he took a lot of pride in the fact that he was a damn good cutter. Roy loved being outdoors, whether it be looking for morels or working. Roy had a huge heart and he loved his family dearly. He was a member of Ava Missionary Baptist Church in Ava, IL.
Roy is survived by his wife, Jody Throop of Ava, IL, children, Morgan Throop, Taylor Throop, Layla Brielle Throop, and Dabbin; step-children, Benson, Jessa and Brody; his parents, Tom and Cookie Throop of Ava, IL; sister, Samantha (Jacob) Haney of Ava, IL; nephews, Liam and Declan Haney; Grandmother, Joy Mottl of Scottsdale, AZ; Uncles and Aunts, Gene Mottl of Bolingbrook, IL, Clay Mottl of Scottsdale, AZ, Heather Mottl of Minooka, IL, David (Rita) Throop of Chester, IL, Linda (Mike) Fortner of Chester, IL; and many cousins.
Roy is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roy Mottl; paternal grandparents, George and Marybelle Throop; Uncles, Mike Throop, Garry Throop, and Paul Hiser.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Minister Deb Rathert officiating. Burial to follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9 am until 11 am at Wilson Funeral Home, Ava. Memorials may be given to the Family and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Ava, IL, 62907.
