STEELEVILLE – Michael C. Salger, 71, of Steeleville, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO.

Michael was born October 24, 1954, in Red Bud, IL to Carl W. and Grace M. (Studt) Salger. He married Tamara S. Fedderke on September 3, 1978, in Steeleville, IL. Michael retired from Dorm Manufacturing, Steeleville, IL. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and District 9 Machinist. Michael enjoyed detailing and restoring cars, he was especially proud of his 1970 Chevelle and 1979 Chevy Step Side. Michael loved spending time with his granddaughters Gracelynn and Lyllian.

Michael is survived by his wife, Tamara "Tammy" Salger of Steeleville, his daughter Jennifer Cole of Steeleville, his granddaughters, Gracelynn and Lyllian, his siblings: Darlene (Scott) Wittenborn of Ruma, Diane (David) Niemeyer of Steeleville, sister-in-law, Sandra Fortner of Steeleville and several nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jeffrey M. Salger, and his brother-in-law, Clay Fortner.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, 11:30 am, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Mark Harriss officiating. Burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 16, 2025, 5:00 – 8:00 pm, and on Wednesday morning, 7:30 – 9:30 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, then 10:30 – 11:30 am, Wednesday, at the church. A college fund account has been established at 1st National Bank of Steeleville for memorials to be made for Michael's granddaughters whom were his pride and joy, Gracelynn & Lyllian Cole or memorials can be made to donor's choice and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O.
