ROCKWOOD – Michael S. "Pops" Lyons, 60, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at his home in Rockwood, Illinois.

Michael was born on December 2, 1964, in Chicago Heights, IL, the son of James R. and Mary A. (Cole) Lyons. He married Jacqueline Martin on July 26, 1984, in Chester, IL. Michael was a retired truck driver for Stephens Trucking, Willisville, IL. He attended Pleasant Ridge Church, Rockwood, IL. Michael enjoyed riding his motorcycles, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors.

Michael is survived by his wife Jacqueline Lyons of Rockwood, IL, his children: Daran (Sara) Lyons of Jonesboro, IL, Kimberly Lyons (Onie Boland) of Campbell Hill, IL, Joshua (Kayla) Martin of Steeleville, IL, Samuel Martin of Elkville, IL; his 11 grandchildren, his siblings: Tony Lyons of Walsh, IL, Tammy Boyer of Steeleville, IL, and Shannon (James) Kinney of Coulterville, IL.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Bethany.

Michael's wishes were for cremation a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 4-6 PM at Ava Park Building. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
