WILLISVILLE - Michael D. Salger, 54. of Willisville, passed away at 3:50 pm, Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Michael was born on July 4, 1958 in Murphysboro, IL, the son of William H. and Avonell Hornbostel Salger. He married Cheryl A. Wilson on May 1, 1983 at Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville. Michael worked at Spartan Printing until it closed then worked Maintenance for the Village of Willisville, IL. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville; Sons of the American Legion, Steeleville; and Chester Eagles. Michael loved hunting, fishing, the St. Louis Cardinals, Nascar racing and being with his family and friends. Michael is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Salger of Willisville; his mother, Avonell Salger of Willisville; mother-in-law, Esther Wilson of Chester; brother-in-law, Kevin (Lisa) Wilson of Steeleville; two nephews, Jeffrey & Christopher Wilson of Steeleville; lots of aunts, uncles and cousins; and many many good friends. Michael is preceded in death by his Father, William Salger; and father-in-law, Earl Wilson. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville with Rev. S. Blake Duncan and Julie Posth officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Monday and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 11 am then from Noon to 1 pm at the church. Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
