WILLISVILLE, Michael Shaun "Swabby" Boyer, 55, of Willisville, passed away at 1:50 AM Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois. He was born August 5, 1959 in Elgin, Illinois the son of Bobbie F. and Doris (Turner) Boyer. Michael married Tammy M. Lyons on April 21, 1980 in Norfolk, VA . Michael served in the U. S. Navy from 1978 to 1989. He was a truck driver with Gilster Mary Lee Corp. in Steeleville, IL. Michael was of the Baptist Faith and was a former member of the American Legion and VFW. He is survived by his: wife, Tammy M. Boyer, Willisville, IL; 3 daughters, Minta (Steve) Morrison, Tilden, IL, Mary Megan Boyer and Fiancé, Isaac Chandler, Steeleville, IL, Amy Boyer and Fiancé, Jonathon Seyferth, Sparta, IL; son, Michael James Boyer, Willisville; Siblings, William Smith, North Carolina, Charles Smith, South Carolina, Ellen Berra, Johnson City, IL and Julie Smith, Georgia. Michael is preceded in death by his parents and step-father. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home Steeleville, Illinois with Shannon Kinney officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 6 to 8PM on Sunday and on Monday from 7:30am until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Siteman Cancer Center or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
