STEELEVILLE – Melinda D. Raby, 47, of Steeleville, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, in Steeleville, IL.

Melinda was born in Chester, IL, on December 16, 1975, the daughter of Thomas and Judith (Kober) Mevert.  She married David Eric Raby on November 12, 2004, at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL. Melinda was a Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL, and the Parrish Nurse at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post 480, and the Steeleville Eagles Auxiliary Aries 3960.

Surviving is her husband, Eric Raby of Steeleville, IL, her children: Josie and Olivia, both of Steeleville, IL; her parents: Judy Mevert of Steeleville, IL, Tom (Doris) Mevert of Percy, IL, her paternal grandmother, Annabelle Mevert, her siblings: Matt (Andrea) Mevert of Steeleville, IL, Michelle (Scott) Gremmels of Steeleville, IL, and several nephews and nieces.

Melinda is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John (Eunice) Kober, and her paternal grandfather, Albert Mevert.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and from 8:00 to 10:00 am on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 10:00 am, at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, with Julie Posth, Parrish Ministry Assistant, officiating.  Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
