SPARTA – Melba J. McMaster, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Clinton Manor Living Center, New Baden, Illinois.

Melba was born on February 9, 1944, in Belleville, IL, the daughter of Riley and Fleta (Finely) McMaster. She was of the Baptist faith.

Melba is survived by her sister, Phyllis Prest of Sparta, IL, her nephews: Dwayne Prest of Sparta, IL, Gary (Samantha) Prest of Pinckneyville, IL, her niece, Bonnie (Rick) Kane of Coulterville, IL, her 3 great nephews, 6 great nieces, 5 great great nephews and a great great niece.

Melba was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother-in-law, Jerome Prest.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Hill Prairie Cemetery, Sparta, IL, with Rev. Tim Gregory officiating. Memorials may be sent to Hill Prairie Cemetery and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
