AVA – Melba June McBride, 93, of Ava, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at DuQuoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in DuQuoin.

Melba June was born in Vergennes, Illinois, on April 28, 1926, the daughter of the late George and Effa Swetland Pugh.  She married Francis Clifton McBride on September 26, 1942 at Jackson, MO.  He preceded her in death on January 9, 1996.  She was a Homemaker and was a member of the Ava Missionary Baptist Church.

June is survived by four sons, Clifton Ray McBride of Ava, Larry Dale McBride of Taylorville, IL, Donald Gale McBride of Ava, and Allen Bruce McBride of Pinckneyville; one daughter, Carol Jean Davis of St. Louis, MO; 13 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; one brother, Donald Pugh of Murphysboro; and one sister, Judith Mileur-Civelo of Florida.

June was also preceded in death by her Parents; one grandson, Donald G. "Duce" McBride II; two sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral service will be at 10 am, Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Dan Mileur officiating.  Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call Tuesday, from 6 pm to 8 pm, and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.   Memorials may be given to Residential Hospice.
