Obituary

Melba Jane Brenning, 78, of Steeleville, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Melba was born in Schuline, Illinois on November 5, 1937, the daughter of Carl and Nora Joost Eggemeyer. She married Howard Wilbert Brenning on June 25, 1960 at Walsh, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2004. She was retired from US Department of Agriculture after 36 years of service. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Walsh; Sparta Eagles Auxiliary 33059, Sparta VFW Auxiliary Post #2698, and Steeleville B.B.K. American Legion Auxiliary Post #480.

Melba is survived by two nephews, Kenny Eggemeyer and Blake Carter; one niece, Christine Hern; many friends and co-workers.

Melba was also preceded in death by her Parents; one sister, Berndine Carter and one brother, Willard Eggemeyer.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:00 am, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with Rev. Harold Weber officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Walsh, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 9 am until 11 am Thursday.
