SPARTA, Medonia M. "Judy" Thompson, 82, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church,  at 4:20 AM Friday, June 23, 2017, at Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville, Illinois.  She was born January 1, 1935 in the Republic of Seychelles, the daughter of James W. and Adeline (Loizeau) Mouna.

Judy married James D. Thompson, a veteran of the U. S. Army for 21 years, on January 15, 1966 on Seychelles Island.  He passed away on January 16, 2014.

She was a Homemaker and a member of Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta, IL.  Judy did Sacristy work for Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Ann's Altar Sodality, Legion of Mary, Sparta Eagles F. O. E., and the Randolph County Care Center Auxiliary.  Judy had a deep conviction for her Catholic Faith and she loved to tend to her flower garden and to travel to visit family.

Judy is survived by her sister, Joyceline Doway; Nieces, Sheila Doway, Stella Doway and Maryline Doway; Nephews, Brian Doway, Frank Doway and Claud Doway.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 26, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Sparta, Illinois with Father John Agleasiere and Father Lawrence Mariasoosai officiating.  Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL.   Visitation will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Sunday where friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from Noon to 1PM.  Rosary will be at 7:30pm on Sunday.  Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church or Masses.
