Obituary Notice Matthew J. Farris AVA, Matthew J. Farris, 33, of Ava, formerly of Vienna, IL passed away at 9:10 A.M. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born July 19, 1974 in Paducah, Kentucky the son of Joe C. Farris and Brenda (Gulley) Farris. Matt married Dawn R. Kranawetter on February 2, 2002 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Matt was a teacher at Trico High School. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Vienna, IL. He is survived by his wife Dawn Farris of Ava; two daughters, Kendall and Sydney Farris of Ava; his mother, Brenda Farris of Vienna; his father and stepmother, Joe & Sharon Farris of Vienna; brothers, Todd (Sarah) Farris of Mt. Pulaski, IL and Russ (Kirsten) Farris of Springfield, IL; sister, Sara Farris of Houston, TX; stepbrothers, Chad (Julie) Martin of Wheeler, IL and Josh Carney of Lombard, IL; stepsister, Suzie Alfonso of Conover, NC; his maternal grandmother, Wanda Gulley of Vienna; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Dale Kranawetter of Ava; sisters-in-law, Michelle Newfarmer of Murphysboro and Cheryl (Brock) Gale of Jacob, IL; brother-in-law: Jeremey (fiancee: Megan Layne) Kranawetter of Murphysboro; 8 nieces and nephews; aunt and uncle, Dean and Nita Gulley of Vienna; uncle, Terry Gulley of Cypress, IL. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with Rev. Raymond Barclay and Rev. Keith Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery in Vienna. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 3 pm to 6:30 pm, Friday, May 30, 2008 with a memorial service following at 7 pm. Visitation will also be held at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna on Saturday, May 31, 2008 after 4 pm and on Sunday, from 9 am until the hour of service.
