Obituary
AVA – Marylyn Nan Salomon, 85, of Ava, formerly of Willisville, passed away at 12:23 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at home in Ava, Illinois.
Marylyn was born in Huntington, NY, on September 29, 1931, the daughter of Frank and Pearl Gallienne L'Hommedieu. She married Edgar "Ted" Salomon on October 1, 1955 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2005. Marylyn was a Homemaker and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Willisville. She was a loving wife and mother. Marylyn lived a life of adventure previously living in New York, California, Florida, Nebraska and Texas, with her journey ending in Illinois.
Marylyn is survived by her children, Bret (Jill) Salomon of Omaha, NE, Stephanie Berry of Percy, IL, Dacia (Roger) Quandt of Troy, OH, Kurt (Cassandra) Salomon of Chino Valley, AZ, and Leslie Wooley of Pinckneyville, IL; grandchildren, Cole Salomon, Brooke (Ben) Henderson, Lisa (AJ) Sheets, Eli Berry, Amanda (Andrew) Savage, Paige (David) Barber, Matthew Gleaton, Ashley (Allen) Johnson, Julie Wooley, and Jimmy Wooley, Jr.; great grandchildren, Chloe Sheets, Jase Savage, Lane Frederking and Wesley Barber; and sister, Judy Miller of Bowie, MD.
Marylyn was also preceded in death by her Parents; a brother, Roland L'Hommedieu; and two sisters, Leah Shadbolt and Joyce Finger.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Missionary Baptist Church in Willisville with Rev. Marty DeRoche officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 6 pm until 7 pm Friday and on Saturday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
