AVA, Mary I. Thompson, 88, of Ava, passed away at 9:15 A.M. Sunday, February 01, 2009, at Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville, IL. Mary was born October 20, 1920 in Jackson County, Illinois the daughter of William H. Castens and Anna (Biesner) Castens. Mary married Alfred R. Thompson on April 21, 1945 at Chester, IL. Mary was a Homemaker and she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point, IL. Mary is survived by her husband Alfred R. Thompson of Ava, IL; one daughter, Sharon (Canyon) Roberts of Ava, IL; six grandchildren, Jason (Rebecca) Thompson, Dawn Reese (Jeff Giacomo), Tabitha Creamer (Tommie Gray), Randy Creamer (Katie Pflasterer), Sherry Roberts (Paul Ridgeway), David Roberts (Jackie Powers); five great grandchildren, Morgan Giacomo, Thya Thompson, Alaina Ridgeway, Parker Ridgeway, and Caitlin Roberts. She was preceded in death by her Parents, One Daughter and Two Brothers. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Point with Rev. Tim B. Zechiel officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, West Point, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and on Friday at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville from 7:30 am until 9 am and on Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point, IL from 10 to 11 am.
