WILLISVILLE - Mary E. Spiller, a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 72, of Willisville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Missouri-Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Mary was born in Lawrence County, Illinois on December 26, 1941, the daughter of James Walter and Dorothy Rose McKenzie. She married William P. "Tom" Spiller, Jr., in Sumner, Illinois on September 4, 1960. She was a retired Secretary and Bookkeeper from Arch Coal-Kathleen mine and was also the Trico School Board Secretary. Mary was active in church work as a Pastor's wife. She was also an election judge. Mary's hobbies included camping, playing the piano, drinking coffee, cooking for her family and serving others. Mary was a lady full of class in all aspects of the word. She was a devoted Christian, who not only proudly and with great honor served Jesus, but with a servants heart served everyone she ever met. Mary always stood beside her husband and family in full support and love. There will never be another like her and for those who never had the opportunity or privilege to meet her, we apologize because you missed meeting an angel sent by God himself. Mary is survived by her husband, William P. "Tom" Spiller, Jr. of Willisville; her children, William P. III (LeAnn) Spiller of Willisville, Deborah Kaye (Robert) Lightfoot of Borden, IN, and Thomas Allen (Melissa) Spiller of Willisville; grandchildren, William Andrew (Natalie) Spiller of Steeleville, James Robert Lightfoot of Borden, IN, Westly Adam Spiller of Sato, IL, Taylor Ashlyn (Bradley) Fondaw of Steeleville, Thomas Dalton Spiller of Willisville, Christopher Steven Schwartz of Willisville, Jason Scott Schwartz of Willisville; great granddaughter, Amelia Ann Spiller of Steeleville; nephew, Chad Clayton (Wendy) McKenzie of LeRoy, IL; niece, Jodie Renee (Dave) Butler of Mahomet, IL; brothers-in-law, Joe Spiller (his special friend, Jan) of Treasure Island, FL, Ed (Valerie) Spiller of Steeleville; Brad (Betsy) Spiller of Campbell Hill, IL; sisters-in-law, Paula (Jerry) DuVardo of Puxico, IL, Judy (Jim) Williamson of Ava, Dawna (Nick) Adkins of Terre Haute, IN, Kelli (TJ) Glenn of Percy, IL; and many nieces and nephews on her husband's side. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James David McKenzie. Funeral service be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Grace Church Ministries in Chester, Illinois with Pastor Ron Coleman and Pastor Sandor Paull officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm to 8 pm Monday and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the Leukemia Society.
