ROCKWOOD, Mary Jane Morgan, 93, of Rockwood, passed away peacefully at 3:38 P.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at her daughter's home in Mount Vernon, IL. Mary was born August 22, 1916 in Rockwood, Illinois the daughter of George William Saul and Martha O. "Mattie" (Harper) Saul. Mary married James Daniel Morgan on May 14, 1940 in Perryville, MO. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2004. Mary was retired from Trico Community Unit School District #176 after approximately 30 years of teaching. She attended the Presbyterian Church. Mary was a member of Royal Neighbors; Electra & Ruth Chapter #379 O.E.S. of Murphysboro, IL; a charter member of the Geneology Society of Southern Illinois; Lifetime member of the N.E.A. - Retired Teacher Association of Randolph County; and the Arts Guild of Southern Illinois. Mary is survived by her son, William (Loretta) Morgan of Jacob, IL; daughter, Dana Jane Morgan Brink of Mount Vernon, IL; grandchildren: Richard A. (Sandra) Brink of Rolla, MO, Elizabeth and Steve Cox of Mount Vernon, Janel (Tim) Cox of Wentzville, MO, Brandon Brink of Las Vegas, NV, Ryan (Genie) Morgan of Nashville, IL and Justin (Kayla) Morgan of Murphysboro, IL; 10 great grandchildren, Zach Mittendorf, Kyle Brink, Abigail, Bo, Sam, Kaden, Lucas & Bella Cox, Kelly and Alex Wright, and a cherished pet, Nola. Mary was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother: John William Saul. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. James Easton officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Hill Cemetery, Grand Tower, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Friday from 4:30 to 8 pm and on Saturday from 7:30 am until 2 pm.
