GORHAM ? Mary Henrietta Heiple of Gorham, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2008 at home, at the age of 86. Mary was born November 17, 1921 in Campbell Hill, IL, to Charles and Josephine Alley Gregersen. She married Gene Heiple from Elkville, IL on October 12, 1940 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He survives. Mary formerly worked at P.N. Hirsch, Rechter Brothers and Pierson's Meat Market. For many years Mary sold eggs to many customers in the Murphysboro area as well as helping her husband on the farm for 67 years. Mary was a member of Crain Baptist church, where she played the piano. Her hobbies included embroidering beautiful quilts. One of her quilts won a blue ribbon at the DuQuoin State Fair. She also loved to cook for her church and family get-togethers. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Beverley (Dan) Jarrett of Murphysboro, as well as two sons, Robert (Marsha) Heiple of Gorham, and Louie (Bonnie) Heiple of Ava; six grandchildren, Kim (Bryan) Barringer, Sherry (Don) Morgan, all of Murphysboro; Tammy Heiple (Michael Little) of Foristell, MO; Julie (Tim) McGinnis of Carbondale; Amber (Ethan) Smith and Dustin Heiple all of Ava; three great grandchildren, Kyle and Logan Barringer and Abbey Thies all of Murphysboro. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise Graff; and one infant sister. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Crain Baptist Church, located on State Highway 3, with Rev. Gilbert Gee and Rev. Floyd Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Joy Cemetery in Murphysboro. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday and on Thursday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 to 11 am at the church. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Blue West; Mt. Joy Cemetery; or Crain Baptist Church.
