STEELEVILLE, Mary F. Fuhrhop, 84, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Steeleville, passed away at 4:20 PM Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt.Vernon, Illinois. Mary was born March 15, 1930 in Sparta, Illinois the daughter of William B. and Mildred A. (Moffat) McKnight. She married Merle A. Fuhrhop on June 12, 1949. Merle preceded her in death on January 3, 1994 . Mary was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL. She is survived by 2 sons: Richard (Loretta) Fuhrhop of Carthage, NC and Steve (Judy) Fuhrhop of Haslett, Tx; 3 daughters: Barbara (John) Bolesta of O'Fallon, MO, Sue (Cliff) Christensen of Mt. Vernon, IL and Karen (Rusty) Seyer of St. Louis, MO; 12 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; one brother: William McKnight, Jr. of Tampa, FL and one sister: Becky Stamp of Sparta, IL. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Dorothy and Nancy. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home Steeleville, Illinois with the Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville on Monday from 6 to 8pm and on Tuesday from 7:30am until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
