PERCY – Mary L. Fedderke, 88, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Three Springs Lodge, Chester, Illinois.

Mary was born on July 21, 1936, in Carbondale, IL, the daughter of Malcolm Riley and Rachel Brown Johnson. Mary married Kenneth W. Fedderke on February 4, 1972, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Percy, IL. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2000. Mary was a member of Steeleville Methodist Church. She attended school in Marion, IL. After high school, Mary received her Education Degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL. Mary went on to teach for 2 years at Steeleville Grade School and 40 years at Coulterville Public School.

Mary is survived by her children: Richard (Karen) Chamness, Stephanie Oetjen, Blair Chamness; her grandchildren: Melissa (Sean) Albritton, Stacia Chamness, Malcolm Ryan (Danielle) Chamness, Joshua (Laura) Chamness, Christopher Chamness (Fiancée Ashley), Andrew (Lindsay)Oetjen, Rachel (Matthew) Hughes; her great grandchildren: Logan, Josephine, Elliot Rose, Garrett, Taylor, Brayden, Anna Beth, Tyne, Lyla, Isabella, Owen; her sister-in-law Ruth Fedderke and many nieces and nephews.

Mary is also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Malcolm Roger Chamness.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, 1:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. James Tinzmann officiating. Burial to follow at New Palestine Cemetery, Chester, IL. Visitation will be on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, where friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of service.
