MURPHYSBORO – Mary Lou Compton, 71, of Murphysboro, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021, at her home in Murphysboro, Illinois.
Mary Lou was born October 16, 1949 in Murphysboro, IL, to William L. and Dorothy Eileen (Browder) Dagner. She married Troy Lee Compton on October 13, 1967 in Murphysboro, IL. Mary Lou was a CNA at Jackson County Nursing Home and worked Home Health. She was a member of Mt. Carbon Church of God, Murphysboro, IL. Mary Lou had a green thumb and loved her flowers. She liked to pass time reading when she was not spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Troy L. Compton of Murphysboro, IL, her children; Michael (Betty) Compton of Murphysboro, IL, Tina (Rick) Bryant of Murphysboro, IL, Troy (Jody) Compton of Dowell, IL, Joyce (Steve) Rehmer of Willisville, IL, and Adam (Jessica) Compton of Ava, IL, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons: Trevor and Curtis, three brothers and one sister, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary & Lawrence Compton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL with Reverend Richard Pyatt officiating. Burial to follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 – 7pm, Friday, April 2, 2021, and Saturday from 7:30 am until the hour of service at Wilson's Funeral Home.
