STEELEVILLE – Mary Ann Badgley, 79, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.
Mary Ann was born on November 23, 1945, in Herrin, IL, the daughter of Joe and Virginia M. (Hampton) Craig. She married Donald M. Badgley on August 13, 1967, in Karnak, IL. Mary Ann was a retired LPN from Chester Clinic and Memorial Hospital after many years. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Steeleville, where she was active in various church committees and teaching Sunday School. She showed her community spirit by volunteering at the Steeleville Food Pantry and other activities. Mary Ann was an avid Steeleville Warrior supporter, attending numerous activities. She cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren who lovingly called her Meme.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, Don of Steeleville, her children: Wendy (Barry) Graskewicz of Keytesville, MO, Matt (Lisa) Badgley of Lincolnshire, IL; her grandchildren: Bailey Graskewicz (Fiance' Patrick Conner), Riley Graskewicz, Abbott Badgley, Brady Graskewicz, Ty Badgley; her sister, Joie Gulley of Pinckneyville, IL, several nieces and nephews along with a host of family and friends.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Phyllis Manker, two brothers-in-law, Dugan Gulley and Sonny Manker.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11:00 am, at United Methodist Church, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. James Tinzmann officiating. Burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be Monday evening, where friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the church and on Tuesday from 9 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to United Methodist Church or the Steeleville Alumni Scholarship, Steeleville High School and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
