Obituary

STEELEVILLE – Marvin V. Stewart, 88, of Steeleville, passed away at 1:15 am, Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at home in Steeleville.

Marvin was born in Percy, Illinois, on August 1, 1931, the son of Charles N. and Elise Blume Stewart.  He married Marjorie M. Metcalf on August 6, 1955 at Venice, Illinois.  She preceded him in death on August 10, 2016.  Marvin was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served from January 1952 until January 1956.  Marvin was a retired Industrial Arts Teacher from Trico Schools.  He started the Industrial Arts program there.  Marvin was a member of Steeleville United Methodist Church; BBK American Legion Post #480, Steeleville; IEA; and NEA.

Marvin is survived by four children, Debra (Rob) Schroeder of Steeleville, Cynthia (Kenny) Falkenhein of Steeleville, Terry (Melissa) Stewart of Steeleville, and Steven Stewart of Waterloo, IL; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Marvin was also preceded in death by his Parents; and four brothers, Armond, Charles, Waldemar and Berdyne.

Phase 4 Guidelines will be in effect, which allows 50 attendees at one time, using social distancing guidelines and facemasks.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 17, 2020, at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, with Rev. Ron Coleman officiating.  Burial will follow.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 9 am until 11 am.  Memorials may be given to the Trico Industrial Fund.
