STEELEVILLE – Marvin E. Dudenbostel, 88, of Steeleville, IL, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at Southeast Health, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Marvin was born June 25, 1934, in Chester, IL, to Ernst and Ella (Kruse) Dudenbostel. He married Shirley A. Stirnaman on November 2, 1957, in Steeleville, IL. She passed away on June 28, 2004. Marvin worked as a switchman for GTE for forty plus years. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, Steeleville Lions Club, and IBEW #702, West Frankfort, IL. Marvin loved to hunt, working around the farms, and family gatherings.

Marvin is survived by his children: Ricky L. (Judy) Dudenbostel of St. Mary, MO, Randy (Debbie) Dudenbostel of Chester, IL, Mark Dudenbostel of Black, MO, Greg Dudenbostel of Steeleville, IL; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Marvin is also preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Matt Helfrich officiating. Burial to follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Friends may call from 9 – 11 am, at the church.
