CAMPBELL HILL, Marvin L. Bierman, 58, of Campbell Hill, passed away at 5:50 A.M. Friday, March 04, 2011, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Marvin was born December 29, 1952 in Sparta, Illinois the son of Orville L. Bierman and Evelyn (Wittenborn) Bierman. Marvin married Marsha L. Thamsen Ring on October 15, 1994 in Campbell Hill, IL. He was a veteran of the US Navy, being discharged after 22 years in June 1993 at the rank of ACC (AW/SW). Marvin was a retired correctional officer from Menard Correctional Center, Chester. He attended Denmark Baptist Church, Cutler, IL. He was a member of the Kaskaskia VFW Post #3553 in Chester and the BBK American Legion Post #480 in Steeleville. Marvin is survived by his wife Marsha Bierman of Campbell Hill;; two sons, Benjamin (Tosha) Bierman of Coulterville and Andrew W. (fiancee Hannah)Bierman of Evansville, IL; two step children, Theresa L. (David) Plakos of Redondo Beach, CA and Joni (Kalle) Buck of Bedford, IN; three grandchildren, Kyle Lee, Kaleb and Kennedi; two step granddaughters, Jessica and Kristina; parents, Orville and Evelyn Bierman of Percy, IL; two brothers, Neal (Sandy) Bierman of Campbell Hill and Gary (Gail) Bierman of Willisville; one sister, Lynda (John) Livesay of Witt, IL; one niece, Brittany; two nephews, Jacob and Ian; and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Guthrie of Campbell Hill. Marvin was preceded in death by one niece. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Pastor Marty DeRoche officiating. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Monday from 5 to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 10 am. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
