Obituary

STEELEVILLE - Marlin Brockmeyer, 80, of Steeleville, passed away at 10:29 am, Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at his home. Marlin was born on October 30, 1934 in Percy, Illinois, the son of Martin and Hulda Weaver Brockmeyer. He married Dolores M. Luedeman on September 1, 1956 in Campbell Hill, Illinois. Marlin was a US Army Veteran having served from 1957-1959. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, where he was a Trustee and Custodian for many years. He was a member of the Shiloh Hill Community Club. Marlin formerly owned Brockmeyer Bros. Trucking and Excavating and he retired from Gateway FS. Marlin is survived by his wife, Dolores Brockmeyer of Steeleville; he was a loving father to three children, Marla (Lonnie) Fisher of Campbell Hill, Rhonda (Rodney) Wilson of Steeleville, and Dennis (Donna) Brockmeyer of Fairview Heights, IL; 8 grandchildren, April (Tim) Eichenseer, Brandon Fisher, Ryan, Reid and Rachel Wilson, Kara, Jared and Miranda Brockmeyer; 2 great grandchildren, Braden and Corbin Eichenseer; one brother, Rayburn (Carolyn) Brockmeyer of Percy; and 4 sisters, Darlene (Herman) Mayer of Steeleville, Wilma Westermann of Chester, Lavern (Willard) Bockhorn of Sparta, and Anita (George) Miller of Campbell Hill. Marlin was preceded in death by his Parents; one grandchild; and three sisters, Verdell Wolters, Bernadine Loucks, and Ruby Mattingly. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 20, 2015 at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville with Rev. Kelly Bedard officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 4 pm until 8 pm Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 am until 11 am then from Noon until 1 pm at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
