STEELEVILLE - Marjorie F. Wicker, 100, of Steeleville, passed away at 9:30 am, Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Chester, Illinois. Marjorie was born in Murphysboro, Illinois on July 23, 1914, the daughter of Adolph and Bertha Castens Kiel. She married Leland A. Wicker on February 25, 1934 in Murphysboro, IL. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1991. Marjorie was the Co-Owner and Operator of Wicker's Jewelry and Department Store and she was a Homemaker. Marjorie was a member St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL; the B.B.K. American Legion Auxiliary #480 in Steeleville, IL; St. Mark's Priscilla Club; and the Common Threads Quilt Guild in Cobden, IL. Marjorie is survived by her son, Paul (Janet) Wicker of Steeleville; her daughter, Kathleen (Morton) Wright of Makanda, IL; two grandchildren, Daniel (Linda) Wright of Spring, TX and Aaron (Mika) Wright of Jackson, MO; and four great grandchildren, Nicole Wright, Trenton Wright, Hendrix Wright and Cooper Senciboy. Marjorie was preceded in death by her Parents. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 28, 2014 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville with Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, West Point. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm Saturday. Memorials may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
