STEELEVILLE – Marjorie M. Stewart, 79, of Steeleville, passed away at 3:50 pm, Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Marjorie was born in Carbondale, Illinois on August 31, 1936, the daughter of Rev. Henry and Helen Caldwell Metcalf. She married Marvin V. Stewart on August 6, 1955 in Venice, Illinois. Marjorie was a retired grocery store clerk and a member of the Steeleville United Methodist Church, Steeleville.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Marvin Stewart of Steeleville; her children, Debra (Rob) Schroeder of Steeleville, Cynthia (Kenny) Falkenhein of Steeleville, Terry (Melissa) Stewart of Steeleville, and Steven Stewart (Special Friend, Heidi Guttmann) of Waterloo, IL; grandchildren, Michael Schroeder, Patrick (Hannah) Schroeder, Daniel (Lindsay) Schroeder, Nicholas, Michael, Joy, James, Cody, Caitlyn and Colton Falkenhein, Leigh Anne Forcum, Jon Stewart, Skylar Danaha, Levi and Shayla Stewart, Nathaniel (Sidney Ballhausen) Stewart and Megan Stewart; great grandchildren, Logan Schroeder, Kyleigh Falkenhein, Karigan, Connor, Kayla, Preston and Roman Forcum, Brenden and Mia Stewart, Skyler Miller, Aubree Stewart and two more on the way, Sisters; Joyce Warren of Granite City, IL and Arlene Earhart of Albion, IL; Sister-in-laws; Dee Metcalf of Granite City, Dorothy Stewart of Steeleville, and Dorothy Moore of Fort Gratiot Township, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister; Mary France Metcalf, 1 brother; Henry L. Metcalf, and 6 brother-in-laws.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, August 15, 2016, at the Steeleville United Methodist Church in Steeleville with Rev. Marvin "Bud" Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to Steeleville United Methodist Church.
