PERCY - Marion L. Wahlman, 81, of Percy, passed away at 11:14 pm, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois. Marion was born in Sparta, Illinois on October 11, 1932, the daughter of Ernest and Agatha Gardner Preslar. She married Edgar Wahlman on October 28, 1953 in Campbell Hill, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2004. Marion was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill; the Sparta Senior Center and was formerly active in the Randolph County Republican Party. Marion is survived by her children, Linda (Rich) Modglin of Energy, IL, Dennis (Friend: Lyneen) Wahlman of Percy, Darlene (Fred) Sterns, Jr. of Oakdale, IL, David Wahlman of Percy, and Lori (Rick) Shamblin of Buffalo, WV; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; brothers: Gene Preslar of Sparta, Orville Preslar of Columbia, IL, Otis Preslar of Hot Springs, AR, and Allen Preslar of North Plains, OR; and sisters, Betty Hangenbush of Argos, IN and Lucille Olds of Ormond, FL. Marion was also preceded in death by her Parents; one son, Robert; three brothers; and one sisters. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Percy with Rev. Alan Kornacki officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Percy, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Monday and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to the Sparta Senior Center.
