Marie Elizabeth Yearian Smith was born to Edward and Dora Hartmann Miller on April 19, 1922. On December 6, 2016 from her home in Buda, TX surrounded by family, Marie passed peacefully from this life into heaven. She joined her parents, brothers Henry, Clifford, Harley, sister Dorothy Miller Halstead and the love of her life, Kenneth Jackson Yearian. The last 3 years of Marie's journey on this earth, her family was 5 generations. Marie's life is honored and celebrated by daughters, Marsha Yearian, Buda, TX; Toni Gaudio, Blakely, GA, Patricia Weaver & son-in-law Paul Weaver, Austin, TX and her daughter/niece, Paula Halstead Elliott, Peoria, AZ. Her grandchildren will remember with great love Gma and the t-shirt that read, "Grandma's the Boss". Grandchildren: Karen & Chris Pelt, Magnolia AR; Kenneth Russell, Austin, TX; Kris & Christa Russell, Fischer, TX; James Russell & Tiffany Downey, Mountain City, TX; Jody & Kim Russell, Bastrop, TX; Debra Hines Hathaway, Austin, TX; Michael Hines, Maxwell, TX; Lynmarie Weaver, Austin, TX; Christopher Elliott, Peoria, AZ; and Jamie & Caleb Mitschung, Avondale, AZ; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Marie was retired from Civil Service having served in administrative positions for over 30 years at Air Force bases in Alaska, Philippines, San Angelo, TX, Laredo TX and Del Rio TX. She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Oakhill, TX. Marie will be interred at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 10am presided over by Wilsons Funeral Home. A memorial service for family and friends will be on Jan 2, 10am at Mt. Olive in Austin, TX.

In her last years on this earth, she made encouragement calls almost daily reading Bible Scriptures and praying with cousins, Norma Liefer Rodewald and Betty Ernsting of Steeleville, IL and sister-in-law Gertrude Yearian, Dixon IL. Her family, lifelong friends, church friends will miss her joy, service and love. Neighbors will miss seeing her walk a mile in her walker around the neighborhood.
