MURPHYSBORO – Margie Ruth Stilley, 91, of Murphysboro, passed away at 2:47 am, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Margie was born in Cave-in-Rock, Illinois, on October 28, 1932, the daughter of Thomas and Mabel Austin Partain. She married Bob Gene Stilley on April 15, 1954, in Cave-in-Rock. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2000. Margie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Murphysboro. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and working outdoors at her home.

Margie is survived by her children, Tom Stilley of Murphysboro, Marianne (Robert) Mason of Grass Valley, CA, and Bobby (DeAnn) Stilley of Murphysboro; grandchildren, Casie, Jennifer, Adam, Andrew, Justin and Jesse; and great grandchildren, Rhet, Rhegan, William, Harper, Kendall and Avery.

Margie was also preceded in death by her Parents; one brother; and one sister.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the United Methodist Church in Murphysboro, with Rev. Dr. Marty McMichael officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carbon Cemetery, Murphysboro. Visitation will be at the United Methodist Church in Murphysboro on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to Sallie Logan Library or the United Methodist Church.
