AVA - Margery Elaine Davis, 68, of Ava, passed away at 7:28 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro. Margery was born on January 14, 1947 in Ava, Illinois, the daughter of Walter R. and Wilma I. Modglin Cottom. She married Larry Davis on October 15, 1971 at Denmark Baptist Church. Margery was a Homemaker, a Caregiver and took care of the farm. She enjoyed arts, crafts, genealogy, and traveling with Larry before she became ill. She was always there for her children, many of their friends and her only granddaughter, Shannan Elyce. Margery is survived by her husband, Larry Davis of Ava; one daughter, Lori Davis of Willisville, IL; one son, Daron Davis of Campbell Hill; one granddaughter, Shannan; two brothers, Lavern (Lorene) Cottom of Ava and Leroy (Beth) Cottom of Ava; one sister, Delores (Glen) Bauersachs of Campbell Hill; brother-in-law, Delbert Bauersachs of Pinckneyville, IL; brother-in-law, Jimmy (Ellen) Davis of Ava; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Charles Richard) Lages of Ballwin, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Margery was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Grace and Grover Davis; and one sister, Mildred Bauersachs. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Robert Boyett officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to the Ava Food Pantry.
