AVA – Margaret L. Jones, 89, of Ava, passed away at 2:57 pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Margaret was born in Ava, Illinois, on December 17, 1927, the daughter of John and Ethel Deitz Doetch.  She married Burt L. "Jack" Jones on February 6, 1948 in St. Louis, MO.  He preceded her in death on April 9, 2003.  Margaret was a Homemaker and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Murphysboro.

Margaret is survived by three sons, Larry (Vernea) Jones of Ava, Carl (Lynn) Jones of Ava, and Steve (Cheryal) Jones of Murphysboro; two daughters, Barbara (John) Carpenter of Murphysboro and Jean (Carl) Clinton of Ava; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Beckman of Campbell Hill, Betty Reed of Iuka, IL, Mary Maher of Washington, IL, and June Sullivan of Keensburg, IL; and one brother, Bill Doetch of Fort Edward, NY.

Margaret was also preceded in death by her Parents; two granddaughters, Amie Jones and Jamie Jones Foster; four brothers; two sisters; one infant brother and one infant sister.
