TILDEN – Margaret Chandler Holcomb, 87, of Tilden, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, Illinois.

Margaret was born in Tilden, Illinois, on June 30, 1935, the daughter of Arlie and Marie (Ferrari) Chandler. She married Donald W. Holcomb, on June 5, 1954, in Tilden, IL, he preceded her in death on October 3, 2000. Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church, Tilden, and the VFW Auxiliary, Post 2698, Sparta, IL.

Margaret is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kelly Holcomb of Ashley, IL, grandchildren: Bryon (Ruth) Holcomb of Ashley, IL, Becky Holcomb of Ashley, IL; great grandchildren: Dana Watkins, Chase Holcomb, Amara Stockon; brother, Dennis (Paulette) Chandler of Tilden, IL, and many special nieces and nephews.

Margaret is also preceded in death by her parents, one son, A.J. Holcomb, two brothers, Charles and Kenny Chandler, two sisters, Bae Joiner and Doris Wilson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, 11:00 am, at First Baptist Church, Tilden, with Rev. Paul Hahn officiating. Burial will follow at Tilden Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Memorials may be given to Tilden Scholarship Fund of First Baptist Church of Tilden.
