SPARTA, Margaret A. Bixby, 96, of Sparta, formerly of Steeleville, passed away at 5:40 P.M. Friday, November 05, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Chester in Chester, IL. She was born September 18, 1914 in Steeleville, Illinois the daughter of Edward David Sternberg and Amelia (Uhe) Sternberg. Margaret married Eugene W. Bixby on June 28, 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas. Eugene passed away on November 5, 1962. She is survived by her daughter: Kim Marie and Robert Lee Barber of Sparta, IL; two grandchildren: James and Robin Bixby of Ellis Grove, IL, Kristopher and Jennifer Fudge of O'Fallon, IL; two great grandchildren: Sabrina and Alexander Bixby; sisters-in-law: Lillian Sternberg of Steeleville,IL and Marie Bixby of Cutler, IL. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, 8 brothers and 6 sisters. She was retired from International Shoe Factory and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville. Rev. S. Blake Duncan will be officiating. Burial will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Monday from 6-8 pm and then on Tuesday from 7:30 until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church.
