CAMPBELL HILL – Mae Dean Fuhrhop, 85, of Campbell Hill, passed away at 1:02 pm, Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.
Mae Dean was born in Cutler, Illinois, on May 10, 1932, the daughter of Curtis M. and Wilma Jewel Dean Caby. She married William A. Fuhrhop on June 30, 1950 in Cutler, Illinois. William passed away on October 14, 2015. Mae Dean was the City Clerk for City of Ava from 1965-1973. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point, Illinois, LWML, and Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid.
Mae Dean is survived by children, Lane (Karen) Fuhrhop of Ava, Larry (Sandy) Fuhrhop of Elkville, Clay (Pam) Fuhrhop of Ava, and Joyce Brown of St. Louis; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; brother, Kay (Agnes) Caby of Steeleville; and brothers-in-law, Charles E. "Tod" (Norma) Fuhrhop of Campbell Hill and Carl D. (Mary) Fuhrhop of Belleville.
Mae Dean is also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Janet; one granddaughter Allison; one great granddaughter Danica; and one brother Paul R. Caby.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church West Point with Rev. Sean Smith officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Friday and on Saturday 9 to 10 am at the church. Memorials may be given to Worship for Shut-Ins or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
