AVA - Mabel I. Kilpatrick, 75, of Portage, Indiana, formerly of Ava, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Hospice Center in Valprasio, IN. Mabel was born in Ava, Illinois on July 8, 1937, the daughter of Marvin and Ina Saul Easton. Mabel married William E. Kilpatrick, Jr. on May 24, 1952 in Arkansas. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1999. Mabel was a homemaker. Mabel is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Jim) Cuzzort of Rising Sun, IN and Teena (George) Culig of Portage, IN; grandchildren, Suzanna (Tim) Manteuffel Jim Culig; three sisters, Geraldine Speith of Murphysboro, IL, Julie Combs of Sparta, IL and Ruth (John) Throop of Willisville. Mabel was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. James Easton officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 10 to 11 am Saturday. Memorials may be given to VNA Hospice Center.
