SPARTA, Luther Joseph Byington, 78, of Sparta, passed away at 7:25 PM Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Illinois.

He was born April 24, 1938 in Bonne Terre, Missouri the son of Luther C. and Virginia (Yarbough) Byington. Luther married Karleen G. Saal on May 1, 1963 in Sparta, IL. Luther was a retired Truck Driver.

He is survived by his: wife: Karleen  Byington, Sparta, IL; Children: Tim Byington, John Byington, Bert Byington, Sparta, IL and Kendra (Brian) Beattie, Sparta, IL and  many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Luther is preceded in death by his parents, 1 Brother and 1 Sister.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home Steeleville, Illinois with Chaplin Daniel Simonton officiating.   Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL.   Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 7:30AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
