ST. LOUIS, Ludawn Hegney, 69, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Ava, IL, passed away at 3:30 P.M. Friday, April 16, 2010, at her home in St. Louis, MO. Ludawn was born December 17, 1940 in Cairo, Illinois the daughter of Wardell Riggs and Virginia (Cartner) Riggs. Ludawn married Alen G. Hegney on December 31, 1975 in Chadwick, IL. Ludawn was a member of the Christian church in Carbondale, IL. She was the retired owner of "Our Place" in Ava. Ludawn is survived by her husband Alen G. Hegney of St. Louis, MO; her children, Faith Delain Cook of Percy, IL, Matthew Hadfield of ElPaso, TX, James Derrick Hadfield of Indianapolis, IN, and Jessica D. Pour of St. Louis, MO; three step children, Douglas G. Hegney of Albany, OR, Pamela Jo Butler of Vancouver, WA and Daniel Hegeny of Albany, OR; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; three brother, Wardell Riggs, Jr. of Herrin, IL, Patrick Riggs of Carterville, IL and Daniel Riggs of Herrin, IL; and one sister, Sara Lee Riggs of Carrier Mills, IL. Ludawn was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Michael Riggs. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Francis Bartley officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until 11 am.
