MURPHYSBORO – Loretta Jean Lynn, 75, of Murphysboro, passed away at 3:47 pm, Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Pinckneyville, Illinois, at her daughter's home.

Loretta was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 18, 1945, the daughter of Herman and Lois Marie Fisher Pollock.  Loretta was a Nurse's Aide with Carbondale Memorial Hospital for many years and she met her first husband, Charles Robert Burke at the hospital.  He preceded her in death.   She retired from the hospital and a few years later married her late husband, Delbert P. Lynn, Sr. in Jackson County, Illinois on July 9, 2003.  He preceded her in death November 14, 2020.

Loretta is survived by her brother, Michael (Kathy) Pollock of Clermont, FL, one nephew, Derek (Janna) Pollock and their three sons of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; four step-children, Julia Lynn (Joe Durham) of Percy, Delbert Lynn, Jr. of Percy, Bobby (Stormie) Lynn of Sparta, her caregiver and daughter, Ashley Lynn (Beau Miller) of Pinckneyville; 11 grandchildren including one very special grandchild, Elisabeth Miller, who was a very great helper in her care and close to her grandma.  Loretta will be greatly missed by her many cousins and one very special cousin/best friend, Brenda (Forest) Miesner of Ava.  Loretta became more than a step mom to her daughter, Ashley, she was a friend.  She enjoyed feeding birds, reading, pottery, and watching crime shows.

Loretta was preceded in death by her Parents and her husbands.
