AVA - Lois Jean Green, 87 years old, of Ava, Illinois passed away at 2:30 a.m. January 1, 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was born on September 4, 1938, in Ava, Illinois, to Ernest Robert and Dera Ellen (Van Hoy) Miller.

Lois was married to Daniel Christopher Green Jr. on October 26, 1962; the Pastor performed a quiet ceremony in his office, when Lois realized the papers would be expired so she didn't have to do bloodwork a second time. Since their church wedding was set 2 weeks later November 10th.

She was loving to all her family, a caring wife, she was dedicated to her faith, raising her family to be faithful to God and kind to others. She made the best cinnamon rolls in the world, along with many other baked goods and wonderful meals, and was willing to teach anyone who asked her how to make something. She was a Member of Ava Assembly of God church.

Lois is survived by her husband, Daniel Green, Jr.; Children, Mary Rogers (Donald), Andy Green (Lori), Steven Green (Mystie), Aaron Lee Green (Christa); Grandchildren, Terrence Reeder (Amber), John Reeder, Kristen (Jake) Shepherd, Jeff Rogers, Brad (Amanda) Green, Paige Green (Michael), Grace Green, Josh Green, Alex Green, Stephen Green; Great Grandchild, Justin, Dylan, Jason, Madelyn, Matthew, Rylea, Morgan, Christian, Tyler, Blake, Emma, Dawson, Kadin; Great-Great Grandchild, Willow; brother, Kenneth Miller (Wanda); sister-in-law, Martha Miller; and brother-in-law, Wesley Strange.

Lois was Preceded in death by, Her parents, Earnest and Dera Miller. And Siblings James Miller, Joy Strange, Irvin (Clara) Miller.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, on Saturday from 10 am until 11 am. Memorials may be given to Ava Assembly of God Church.
