CHESTER – Lloyd H. Hartenberger, 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Three Springs Lodge, Chester, Illinois.
Lloyd was born on December 5, 1943, in Red Bud, IL, the son of Carl B. and Ada (Stellhorn) Hartenberger. He married Sandra Landmann on August 14, 1982, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Chester, IL. Lloyd was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.
He owned and operated a heating and a/c business "Lloyds" in Chester, IL. Lloyd was a man of all trades. He retired from Chester Mental Health. Lloyd was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Chester, IL, VFW Kaskaskia Post 3553, Chester, IL, and Alva Courier American Legion Post 487, Chester, IL.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Sandra Hartenberger of Chester, IL, his children: Michael (Lindzay) Hartenberger of Castel Rock, CO, Wendy (Jim) Ferguson of DuQuoin, IL; his grandchildren, Ada and Tucker, his special nephew, Kenneth Stout of Chester, IL, his God daughters: Jessica Cluck of Marissa, IL and Alyssa Allhands of Normal, IL.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Lois (Clifford) Simpkins.
Lloyd Hartenberger's wishes were for Cremation with a private service to be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Chester Public Library and can mailed in c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
